Project Description

The project centered on a large, Grade II listed 16th-century building on Burgate, a historically significant property subject to strict preservation regulations. The renovation involved the complete overhaul of a 40-year-old kitchen, including a knock-through to reconfigure the space, full rewiring, and re-plumbing. The objective was to deliver a modern, high-end, fully functional kitchen while adhering to listed building regulations.

A structural survey was conducted to assess the feasibility of wall removal while ensuring compliance with heritage requirements. The renovation encompassed demolition and removal of outdated kitchen fittings, faux beams, floor finishes, old electrical cabling, and pipework. Structural modifications, including a wall knock-through, with reinforcements to meet listed building standards. Complete rewiring of the kitchen to current electrical standards, accompanied by certification. Full re-plumbing to support the new kitchen layout and appliances, with certification. Installation of high-end kitchen fittings, fixtures, and finishes, creating a modern, efficient space that harmonized with the property's historical character.

The project was completed with full adherence to Grade II listed building regulations, preserving the property's heritage while delivering a premium, fully certified kitchen.

I can't recommend Superstructures services high enough. They have been absolutely brilliant. We are so delighted with our kitchen. Everyone — carpenter, painters, plumbers, tilers and electricians were so professional and were all very patient with me. Listening to my ideas and giving me expert advice. Nothing was too much bother and I am so relieved I booked them. A big thanks to Paul — he was always there on the day, guiding and overseeing the work. He even was caught washing the floor lol. I have recommended this company to all my friends. You couldn't find anyone better to fit your kitchen.

I can't thank Superstructure Services Ltd enough for what they did to my house — they were amazing! I had had a really bad experience with a local Deal tradesman, who messed up my new kitchen, bathroom and shower room. He took on the job of undoing all the inferior work and finished all rooms to a very high standard. It was an extremely professional job with the nicest people, who were tidy, respectful and above all very capable. The carpenters, kitchen fitters, bathroom fitters, electrician, decorators and plumber were each so experienced and knowledgeable in their field. Paul and his team gave me confidence from day one — I love my home now. I can not recommend this company enough.

We have renovated an entire house — completely new electrics, floors, new windows/doors, partly new roof, kitchen and bathroom installation, carpentry and decorating inside and exterior — with Paul and his team. The quality of the work was outstanding in every aspect. Paul did an excellent job building and installing some bespoke bookshelves for us. Having had some very poor experiences with others in the past, we were really impressed by Paul. He was extremely responsive when we first contacted him. Not only did he do an excellent job, but he treated our house with respect, used clean dustsheets and cleaned thoroughly up after himself. Paul Clay has completed a first class refurbishment of our library. Every step of the project was completed in a professional fashion. He was the only builder who insisted on doing some investigative excavation works before providing a quote — his costings were accurate and the subsequent works had few surprises. The project involved investigating damp and rotten floorboards, re-tanking the walls, constructing a reinforced concrete screed with insulation, damp-proofing, re-wiring, plastering and decorating, refurbishment of the oak windows, and renewing the oak door and skirting. He is, undoubtedly, a perfectionist. Available seven days a week, he would reply on WhatsApp within a short period of time. We plan to use him again.
